Characteristics of our Metal Roofing

Metal roofingKidd’s roofers install all types of metal roof systems and are considered one of the best roofing contractors in Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas, Texas. Metal roofs are considered to be the “premier roof” for a commercial building. They furnish building designers and owners with a world of choices including system design, type of metal, and several color options. Metal roofs also boast excellent strength, durability, and fire resistance. Metal roofing has an excellent track record that is literally centuries old, and is in service on approximately 50% of all low-rise commercial, industrial and institutional buildings erected over the past several years. No matter what kind of style, color, or finish you have now, there’s a roof style to match or compliment the look of your building. In addition to panelized systems commonly used on commercial buildings, today’s metal roofing is available in designer looks that simulate shingles, slate, shakes or slate. Contrary to what many believe, insulated metal roofs are as quiet as other roof coverings such as shingles, slate, or tile.

Metal Roofing for Sustainability

Metal roofs are the emerging star of the energy-efficient and sustainable building movement. It can be coated with “cool color” coatings (even dark colors) that are highly-reflective, resulting in lower costs for cooling your buildings. Metal roofing is also touted for its content of post-consumer material and will be recyclable at the end of its long service life.

Case Study

One of the jobs that helped to define the kind of work architects and general contractors seek for their projects was The Bob Bullock State History Museum behind the capitol building in Austin, Texas. This project involved the installation of an Overly Manufacturing copper dome roof and mansard system all around the museum building. (It also included a 50,000 square feet Johns Manville modified bitumen roof system.) Being an Overly certified roof installer is an honor, as their high end roof systems are the pinnacle of metal roof designs in the cladding construction industry.
